Terms & Conditions

Outlined below are the Terms and Conditions required for enrolment in a French language course at DFC (Dordogne School of French). Please read them carefully and indicate your agreement on your enrolment form.

 

Enrolment

Your completed registration form, accompanied by a deposit of €75 or full payment, must be received at least 3 weeks before the start of your course. A confirmation of enrolment will be sent by email or post.

 

Enrolment Fees & Course Modification Fees

Participants who modify their course or dates less than 2 weeks prior to the start of the course, or during their stay, will be liable for a supplementary €40 administration fee.

 

Payment

  • The balance of payment must be made 14 days prior to the commencement of the course.
     

  • If you enrol less than 3 weeks before the starting date, full payment is required with the enrolment form.
     

Payments must be made in Euros by one of the following methods:

  • Credit card: VISA, MasterCard (via our website)
     

  • Cash
     

  • Bank transfer: for transfers from overseas, please add €20 to cover bank charges.
    Important: please indicate clearly the name of the student and course dates with your payment.

Cancellation

Cancellation fees:

  • 2–3 weeks prior to the start of the course: €25
     

  • 1–2 weeks prior: €50
     

  • Less than 1 week prior: €75
     

DSF reserves the right to cancel a course that does not reach a sufficient number of participants. In such cases, if no compromise can be reached, DFC will reimburse the full amount of fees paid.

Without prior approval from DFC, participants who attend a course but do not complete it are not entitled to a refund of course fees.

 

Public Holidays

When a course falls on a public holiday, classes will be rescheduled. Missing lessons are generally added to another lesson during the same week.

 

DFC School Rules

  • Lesson timetables: to ensure classes start on time and run smoothly, participants are expected to respect the timetable set by DFC.
     

  • Classes missed due to non-attendance will not be rescheduled.
     

  • We kindly ask participants to show respect and courtesy to others, foster a supportive atmosphere, and attend classes punctually.
     

 

Unavoidable Circumstances

DFC makes every effort to ensure that each participant receives the courses booked. However, DFC cannot take responsibility for disruptions to courses or related services resulting from:

  • Forces beyond its control (natural disasters, strikes, epidemics, extraordinary events)
     

  • Participant actions (changes without notice or approval from DFC)
     

  • Actions of a third party
     

Courses and services missed due to the above causes will not be recovered and no refund will be given.

 

Liability For Students Under 18

  • DFC cannot accept liability for accidents occurring off the school premises.
     

  • DFC is only liable for actions or deeds of students under 18 while the school has a duty of care, in accordance with Article 1384, al.1 of the French Civil Code.
     

  • If the student fails to attend lessons, DFC cannot accept liability for the student’s behaviour during that time.
     

  • For extracurricular activities suggested by DFC outside school premises, the parent or guardian remains fully responsible.
     

  • Parents or guardians are wholly responsible for their child at all times, except when DFC has a duty of care in accordance with Article 1384, al.4 of the French Civil Code.

Complaints

Any complaint regarding services supplied by DFC must be made in writing via email to: bonjour at dordognefrenchcourses.com

Complaints must be submitted within one week of the course ending.
